Getting There

Airport: Geneva: 60 km
Railway: Thonon: 25 km
Ferry/Tunnel: Calais: 880 km
Fly and then drive is the quickest option.

From Geneva Airport (1¼ hrs)

  1. Leave Geneva Airport, follow signs to Lausanne onto motorway.
  2. Pick-up signs to Geneve Lac and follow road down to and around lake.
  3. In Geneva, keeping the lake on the left, follow signs to Evian and later, Thonon.  Keep passports handy for the border.
  4. Before Thonon at the Centre Commerciale turn off right onto the Thonon bypass first junction after ‘Buffalo Grill’
  5. Leave bypass at junction 1, signed to Morzine.
  6. Stay on main road.  Eventually the road runs up the gorge alongside the river.
  7. Through three short tunnels, past Seytroux on the right, and ruined abbey on left.  You are now almost there!
  8. Turn right towards la St Jean d’Aulps Station (if you go into village of St Jean d’Aulps, you have gone too far)
  9. Turn left at junction then right, immediately before the church.
  10. Follow the road up the hill into St Jean d’Aulps Station
  11. As you arrive in the square, le Schuss is the block facing on the right.
  12. Entrance to apartments is via outside staircase to the right of main garage door.  Number 12 is on the first floor (above ski rental shop)

By Road via Autoroute Blanche (A40)
The drive from Calais takes about 8½ – 9 hours (including stops) and is motorway apart from the last 30km.

  1. Take the Autoroute Blanche (A40) towards Chamonix / Mont Blanc
  2. Leave the A40 at exit n°15 and follow signs to Taninges along the Valley Vert
  3. Pick up signs to Les Gets
  4. Go through Les Gets.
  5. Stay on main road following signs to Thonon
  6. Pick-up signs to St Jean d’Aulps
  7. Turn left towards St Jean d’Aulps Station and follow the signs up the mountain.
