All designed to keep you warm and give you energy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/licorne.synthasite.com\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"la licorne\" src=\"https:\/\/laschuss.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/la-licorne1-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a>There are a lot of good cafes \/ restaurants on the slopes \u2013 most\u00a0specialise in mountain food.\u00a0La\u00a0Grand Terche\u00a0has 2 restaurants at the top of the telecabine.<br \/>\nOne of them, La Licorne\u00a0does a special evening meal including torchlight descent\u00a0(diners must be able to ski red runs easily).<br \/>\nLes Lindaret\u00a0(tiny ski through village near Ardent) has a wonderful\u00a0collection of small restaurants.\u00a0 They are all good but\u00a0Les Marmottes,\u00a0Pomme de Pin,\u00a0Cr\u00e9maill\u00e8re\u00a0and\u00a0La Terrasse\u00a0stand out.<br \/>\nFlo\u2019s\u00a0in\u00a0Avoriaz\u00a0on the slope down to the main chairlifts is recommended for generous portions of good traditional mountain food at reasonable prices. \u00a0It&#8217;s always best to book in advance &#8211; on a cold day try to get a table in the window. (Beware of the \u2018complimentary\u2019 firewater).<br \/>\nLa Vieux Chalet\u00a0in\u00a0Plaine Dranse\u00a0is worth a visit for the good food and remarkable over-decoration (Beware of Babette!).\u00a0 Next door is\u00a0la Crepy\u00a0\u2013 large, friendly and good value.<br \/>\nRestaurant le Toupin\u00a0at\u00a0Lechereuse\u00a0near Champery comes highly recommended.\u00a0 Book in high season (0041 24 479 15 48)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/laschuss.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/pere-bill-winter.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-70\" title=\"pere-bill winter\" src=\"https:\/\/laschuss.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/pere-bill-winter-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"319\" height=\"210\" \/><\/a>In\u00a0St Jean d\u2019Aulps station, <strong>L\u2019Etabli\u00a0<\/strong>is good for traditional mountain food and pizzas (book table in high season). \u00a0<strong>Bar\u00a0Enfanle\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>L\u2019Avalanche<\/strong>\u00a0are also popular for that first apr\u00e8s ski drink.<br \/>\nSt Jean d\u2019Aulps\u00a0has\u00a0<strong>L\u2019<\/strong> <strong>Petit Coq\u00a0<\/strong>has a simple, good menu, with more than the usual mountain food.\u00a0 <strong>Le\u00a0National\u00a0<\/strong>is fun with pizza, music and pool.<br \/>\n<strong>L\u2019Auberge\u00a0at\u00a0La Biot\u00a0<\/strong>is well off the tourist route. Specialities are the smoked salmon (home smoked and excellent)\u00a0and the Marmite de Peschuer.<br \/>\nMorzine\u00a0has\u00a0<strong>La Etale<\/strong>\u2013 excellent food and slightly unusual <strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-120\" title=\"Lefanle-bar-pub.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/laschuss.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Lefanle-bar-pub.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"330\" height=\"231\" \/><\/strong>range \u2013 can get very busy, so best to book for Friday or Saturday night. <strong>La Grange\u00a0<\/strong>(450 75 96 40), where Chef Fabrice Broux, who trained with celebrated chef Paul Bocuse, prepares gourmet and Savoyarde specialties and serves them in an intimate setting that\u2019s both elegant and rustic.\u00a0 Fixed-price menus range from \u20ac30\u2013\u20ac50, the latter Broux\u2019s Surprise Menu of six dishes based on the availability of fresh products at the market place.<br \/>\nRestaurant\u00a0<strong>Le Clin D\u2019Oeil\u00a0<\/strong>(450 79 03 10) is a good choice for traditional regional foods as well as pizza.\u00a0 It\u2019s tucked away in Le Bourg section of Morzine, behind the supermarket, next to the post office.\u00a0 A three-course menu is \u20ac15\u2013\u20ac25.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ski-and-summer.co.uk\/rufusrestaurant.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-265\" title=\"oven1\" src=\"https:\/\/laschuss.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/oven11-300x240.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/laschuss.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/oven11-300x240.jpg 300w, https:\/\/laschuss.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/oven11.jpg 500w\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Les Sapins\u00a0<\/strong>(450 75 90 56) with a spectacular view of\u00a0Lake Montriond\u00a0is known for its home cooking.\u00a0 Roger Muffat, father of the owner, prepares everything himself including the dried meat and ham.\u00a0 A five-course meal is \u20ac18\u2013\u20ac30.<br \/>\nLes Gets\u00a0has good affordable meals at the\u00a0<strong>Alpages Hotel\u00a0<\/strong>(450 75 80 88) and\u00a0<strong>Hotel Regina\u00a0<\/strong>(450 75 80 44) where daily menus start at less than \u20ac15.<br \/>\nFor a true alpine atmosphere and a grand view of Mont Blanc, lunch at\u00a0<strong>Le Belvedere\u00a0<\/strong>(450 79 81 52) at the top of the\u00a0Mont Ch\u00e9ry gondola\u00a0in\u00a0Les Gets.
